FMB & Guild of Master Craftsmen

Federation of Master Builders

AJB Roofing are proud to be members of FMB (Federation of Master Builders) and The Guild of Master Craftsmen. FMB is a trade association established 70 years ago to protect the interests of small and medium-sized building firms – today it is the largest trade association in the UK building industry. Only those builders and specialists who have passed the vetting process are accepted as members. Membership criteria and checks include:
  • Committed to offer all customers the option of a building work guarantee from the NRWB
  • A minimum of three years trading history and have provided three years accounts
  • Signed a Trustmark license
  • Had an inspection on a job in progress on joining and on a completed development every three years thereafter
  • Passed credit checks, public record and director checks
  • Verified that they have no undischarged bankruptcies or relevant and outstanding County Court Judgements
  • A minimum of twelve months trading history
  • Provided two references, one client reference (preferably from a work in progress) and one professional reference

  • Agreed to abide by the FMB (and NRWB if applicable) Disputes Resolution and Complaints Procedures

The Guild of Master Craftsmen’s stringent entry criteria ensure that only those companies who meet the requirements are awarded membership, which is by no means automatic. Members are required to prove that they have earned the right to be called master craftsmen - through the quality of their work, their commitment to customer care and the level of service they provide. Once accepted into membership they are required to maintain the Aims and Objectives of the Guild. Should they fail to do so their membership will be terminated.
